Why did you move to the Northwest?

Before I moved to Seattle I was living in Salt Lake City and working for the University of Utah. I got to a point in my job where I needed a new opportunity and figured I might as well consider out-of-state options. I applied for jobs here and eventually got an offer!

What is your day job?

I've continued my profession in higher education and currently work for the University of Washington. I do marketing and recruiting for the Master of Health Administration program.

What do you do for fun?

I love spending time outside especially when the sun is shining. I love to go hiking with my dog.

What is High Fitness and what got you involved in it?

HIGH fitness is choreographed interval training. It alternates between higher intensity cardio tracks to get the heart pumping and lower intensity toning tracks to target specific muscles. I first tried HIGH fitness when I was visiting a friend in California and was instantly hooked. It was so much fun. I had recently just been certified in another program and wanted to find another format to certify in. After trying one class I knew HIGH fitness was the one.

How has group fitness played a role in your life?

I got really into group fitness about 7 years ago when I was living in Salt Lake. I looked at the schedule and thought that a kickboxing type of class sounded fun. I tried it out and loved it so much that I regularly went 2-3x/week. It was eventually the first format I got certified in to teach. Group fitness is truly a community, if you find a class and attend it regularly, you will see the same people and get to know them. I have made so many friends through attending classes. It is a community that I love to be a part of. Everyone is supportive. It isn't competitive, it's just about having fun and intentionally moving your body.
